Blockdis
A Windows distraction blocker that uses intentional friction to help people stay focused.
Problem
I struggled with distractions while working on my projects, and I wasn’t satisfied with the existing blockers. They were too easy to bypass whenever I felt like procrastinating.
I realized I didn’t need another blocker. I needed something that would make giving up on a focus session harder.
Solution
I built Blockdis, a Windows app that lets users block distracting websites and applications for a chosen period of time.
If someone wants to unblock something before the session ends, they have to type an entire paragraph. This creates intentional friction, making it easier to resist impulsive distractions and get back to work.
The best part? I built Blockdis to solve my own problem, and it genuinely helped me stay focused.
Marketing
I experimented with organic TikTok content to reach people struggling with distractions. I tested different video formats and monitored engagement and conversion metrics to understand what worked.
